Do I need to assist this hatch??

Ok since last night I have had one LO and one BO hatch. Since the first one hatched, there has been an EE egg trying to hatch. About half the shell is gone, but I can see the chick inside, through the membrane, and it does not seem to move or peep much. theWhat should I do??

should I try to open the membrane? Dampen it first and see what happens? it is under Mom and if it is dead or having trouble I need to get it out from under her...

Check if the chick is still alive and if it is, dampen the inner membrane and check if there are any active blood vessels. If there are any you should leave it a bit longer before removing the membrane and helping it hatch. If you do not see any vessels remove enough of the membrane so the chick can complete the hatch by itself.
