do i need to intervene w/broody hen?

she is suddenly for the first time broody. I've never had a broody before. do I need to help her eat & drink or will she take care of herself?
how many eggs can she incubate (she's a buff orp, so she's on the big side)?

Check to see if she has pulled her feathers out and see if she is truely broody before giving her eggs to hatch, if she is just place water and food close to her, as far as the number of eggs....i have heard that 8-10 are a good number, some do more.....good luck
