what an amazing forum community! i had never had someone interested in a thread I posted almost a year ago.
To answer your question - YES I did build that coop. I had 7 chickens and they gave me about 4 eggs a day. after about a month I keept the run door open at all times and they became free range chickens, returnig to the coop only at night. I stoped buying food for them, as they were eating greens and bugs all day. I only gave tham scraps. Although during the summer when there was less vegetation thay only gave me about a eeg or two a day, it was really fun for me to see them walking around freely all day and runing for me every time I opened the door, hopping I'il give the something (which I useally did).
Unfortunately two months ago I brought my girlfriend's dog to play with my dog... so now I have 2 chickens.
Anyway, I am moving in a couple of months to a much biger place with a huge yard, so I plan on building a bigger han house for about 20-25 chickens. I thought about taking the coop I built with me but a think i will do something nice a leave it for the next people how will live there.
So, see you when I start building my second, bigger a better coop!
