I can't find an answer to this silly question anywhere! We've always gotten POL pullets in the past, but this time we're getting 36, 7 week old chicks to raise up for laying. I'm getting their house ready now and am wondering about feeders.

I've got poultry nipples so am going to make a few bucket drinkers with the nipples on the bottom. But for feeders, will they still need the little chick feeders at this age, or can I use one of the large hanging feeders we use for our adult birds, but just hang it lower? There won't be any older birds in with them, they are all 7 weeks old and coming from the same place.

i'd use the hanging feeder. and hang it lower if they need it. i think when mine were little i just sat it on the ground.

I don't ever use chick feeders, all my birds get a big hanging galvanized feeder. Well, it's not always hanging, but you get the picture
