Do I take any pipping eggs out of moms nest?

I have 4 black swedish duck eggs that have started their internal pipping and 6-8 will start sometime soon. I read when bringing new ducks in the flock to hold the babies until their feathers have come in. Do I have to remove the baby ducks after they start pipping or after the're born to prevent my drake from killing them? Or will he leave them alone because they are his? Thank you

I don't think drakes have paternal instincts. Can you separate the duckling so that they can be seen but not hurt.
