I would. Some broodies do not have a great strong instinct, so no matter how old they are or how many times they try, they just are not as good as some others. Sometimes a first time broody us not as mature as they should be so they may have a few more problems than an older broody. Something like a pullet that lays her first egg from the roost because she has not quite figured out what is going on, although her instincts tell her to find a safe nest to lay the egg in. But most times a broody gets it right the first time. I would certainly try it.
