Do incubators need to be full?

I'll keep searching the forum but does anyone know about the impact of running an incubator when it's only half full? I'm trying to decide between an EX 28 or an EX 56. Currently the cost difference is $10 via Amazon or $100 via the website. For the next year or so I'd only need the 28 size but after that I would like to do larger hatches to choose the best genetics for continuing the breeding project once the rest of the infrastructure is in place. Thinking of that, I will likely lean towards the 56. So is it bad to only hatch half or third of capacity?

I'm not sure it matters but I've never had a brinsea.

I guess it's a general incubator question actually. Do they have to be full or near capacity to function effectively?

I really don't know. I can say my NR360 worked just fine at ~50% capacity.

That's good to know. The NR360 is the other one I was looking at until I saw that Brinsea was on super sale right now. I would expect they would function similarly.
