Do Lakenvelders make good pets?

Hi! I've only had a pair of Lakenvelders, but they preferred to be left alone and were flighty when they were young. The Lak' hen I have now has mellowed (she's 5-ish) and will take treats but won't let me pick her up (I don't push the issue unless her spurs need trimming).
