Im getting 5 ducklings on thursday,3 female mallards 1 male mallard and a female pekin.I have 2 questions.Once the male mates with the female mallards and they start laying eggs will they go broody over there clutch? Also will the mallard mate with the pekin?

Yes the mallard will mate with the pekin and ive been told that mallards are very broody. Ive only ever had a drake but i have a friend with mallards and i asked him that question yesterday.

Ok thanks I was hoping they would becouse I dont want to hatch the eggs myself, lol.I was also wondering if I clipped alot of the feathers on the mallards wings would they be able to fly out of about 4 ft of fencing?
