I have some eggs almost hatched.
Should I separate the female from the Drake & also my question is when they do hatch what to feed them or does the mother do it?

Thanks in advance.

They can eat an All Flock feed as long as it's crumble. and mama will teach them to hunt bugs and such too.

If you are able to be there to keep an eye on everyone than you could try to not seperate them but I would probably seperate unless under supervision at first. As previously stated, some drakes will kill ducklings.
When mine had ducklings, I kept the male apart unless I was there. After about 1-2 weeks I let them together since the ducklings could move around more quickly and get out of the way if need be.

thanks, but what about separating them?

I kept mine apart for the first 2-3wks and then reintroduced mama and babies to the flock by then they were of more size and mama duck kept the boys away BUT you have to be careful... it's always a risk, heck even with other ducks some can be just as cranky.

I have seen my ducks go after ducklings before I don't think with the intention to kill just to scare the living daylights out of them, I think they like to hear them scream real loud when they have hold of their feathers.
