Does Muscovy Really taste like Veal ? ive heard that if they are free range they can get a bit gamey tasting i just hope it dont taste like liver not a big foi gras fan

Old post... but I thought I would answer. .

Young muscovy meat looks and tastes like veal to me... but the breasts are so little that I only butcher that young if I have to for whatever reason. (So under 3 months)

Older muscovy tastes like lean very tender beef, I have never found it to be gamey or string tasting.

I love older muscovy because then you get such a huge bird to cook! So 6 months to 1 year old is my favorite!

Do cook older bird LOW and SLOW, so low heat!

No, doesn't taste at all like chicken.
