Do they? I'm in Ohio.
I may not be much help as i live on the other side of the world but my muscovies lay all summer long and not and egg again til spring after that.
Mine laid great until they went broody. Then they layed around for 5 weeks. They hatched their ducklings and went back to laying when the ducklings were 2 weeks old then when they got around 12-16 eggs they began the cycle all over. I have 3 ducks on 41 eggs.
Oh dear. I just realized how many I could end up with. I think DH doesn't want to know about my little enlightened moment I just had. Especially since there are already 10 Muscovy duckings running around.
I have 4 hens. Two of which have around 15 babies. But I noticed the one is staying near the shed more and there is tons of feathers in a box. So I think thats going to be her nest.
I have 5 hens left and none are laying right now.
3 of them went broody and quit laying, all have had their babies and lost most of them. Still no eggs.
2 hens only layed for a couple of weeks and then quit?
I am in Missouri... I don't know why they quit???
I feed flockraiser and scraps. Plus they free range.
