My silkie chicks are pooping blood! One is pooping blood only and the others have rusty brown, runny droppings. The standard chicks are doing fine. They are on medicated feed, they are about 4 weeks old, and have been outside for about 2 weeks. Please give your opinions. Thanks in advance.

I've been through Cocci 3x with chicks and it does sound like yours has it. I don't generally put mine outside prior to 8wks either, just personal preference. You can treat them with Corid, Amprol, or Sulmet (Sulfamethazine) but Sulmet doesn't treat all strands of Cocci. Corid/Amprol is best. Clears them up right away. Medicated feed helps give resistance but doesn't prevent Cocci. Good luck!

Thank you guys. I bought some 9.6% liquid Corid for them. If you have any other comments, please post on my other thread. Sorry about that. My fault.
