My chicks are still eating mostly their grower feed, but yesterday and today it was warm so I took them outside to run around. They found all sorts of little bugs to eat and had a ball trying to figure out what to do with a worm they found.
It's raining and cold now, so I dug up a nice hunk of dirt w/ lots of lil' buggies in it and put it in their cage for them to scratch around in.
So, do they now need grit, or will the grit that is in their feed sufice? They are still eating their feed mostly b/c I sprinkled it over the dirt for them to peck at.
