Do my ducks know something about the upcoming winter that i don't know? ☃

It's funny you should ask this. I noticed my ducks molted a few weeks early and they do look fluffier than normal. My pony has started growing her winter coat too. I just hope we actually get some fall weather too. Last few years it goes from summer heat to winter cold with, like, one week of cool fall weather. And fall is my favorite season.

I believe most wild animals have a 6th sense for predicting current weather and hash winter weather ahead. All except for the little Ground Squirrel on February 2nd, who only has a 39% average of being correct on the arrival of an early spring or not! :gig

What would you do if you were dragged out of your bed by some old farts with black cylinder hats on their bald heads? - Just say something, so they will put you back… :gig

I am sure, something is going on, my neighbors goats have developed an unusual thick fur too. Actually it was that neighbor who was asking me if i have noticed something with my ducks.

What do your wooly bears say? Mine say long rainy winter 😂 https://www.weather.gov/arx/woollybear
I've found one Woolly Bear yesterday, sadly already dead. It was entirely black, and according to the web-site you have linked here: »The longer the woolly bear's black bands, the longer, colder, snowier, and more severe the winter will be.«
I assume an entirely black woolly bear means we're in for the next Ice-Age? 🥶⛄❄☃🌨

And the ducks were right!
They knew exactly what kind of winter we would get here in West Virginia this year:

For those who are more familiar with the Fahrenheit scale: -8°C is 17.6F and it is snowing here since 6pm yesterday we have more than 40cm (>1') of snow on the ground.
