Hey guys, I have a big shed with nest boxes inside that im using for a coop. This is rather new and their are no windows or anything so its pretty dark on the inside. There are two big double doors on the back for me to get in and a small door for them to get in. Do they need some light while they are in there? for egg laying? can they see well enough? Thanks

Yes , cut some holes/windows into the coop. Chickens are not moles, they can't see well in the dark at all. Not only would the windows allow for light, but they would supply much needed fresh air/ventilation.

Light during the winter months will help promote consistent egg laying. I found a couple pieces of old 3/8" plexiglass cut holes in my coops roof and siliconed them in. It is nice and bright in the coop.

In your area, those birds are going to need some ventilation/windows or something or they'll suffocate in the heat there

. Check out some ventilation threads for ideas and open that shed up for them
