Do my goslings hate me?

I just keep repeating in my head "think of the mess, think of the mess!" It's helped so far, but your right the photos don't!!! :he

Seriously, the mess is one of the only determents that I have! However, there are never messes in the photos. The little ducklings and goslings always look clean and angelic, as if they didn't even have a way to make a mess. (but yeah, we all know better!)

As previous, hand over their head is a hawk (danger). Approach from the side and make all manner of cute mommy goose sounds. I have raised many Canada geese and having them follow you everywhere is fun. Teaching them to fly .... more work, but having them all fly over your head is a trip.

LOL! I call my ducks and ducklings the "little piggies". I actually have my ducklings in my empty hog building, they fit right in... lol!

My goose will run frome when I try and pick him up from above. But he comes to me when I am sitting down as a matter of fact I have him a dog bed on the ground near me and he loves laying down in it. Or he will lay down right next to my foot in the cool dirt.

My adult American Buff geese, who I raised in a brooder in my spare bedroom, still don't always want me to approach them -- unless there is a treat in my hand. On the other hand, if I am sitting down in the yard, trying to clean water dishes or work on the flower bed (which is ALWAYS attractive to them), they will approach me. And, more often than not, they will begin nibbling at my clothes. They are wonderfully contrary!!

My goodness that's cute lol. I'm extremely upset over the loss of my 2 goslings last week due to fox attack. They were 3 weeks old. I raised them from hatchlings and they loved me. I then replaced them (white Chinese) with two new ones that were probably ~ 1 week at the time. I've now had them a week. They can't stand me and it's a sorry replacement. What kind of treats do you feed yours?

When you’re picking them up also try scooping them from below, they don’t mind it but reaching down to them from above terrifies them. The more time you spend with them the more they’ll love you.

Also for those afraid of gosling mess, goslings aren’t that bad compared to ducklings. I’m still haunted by the memories of having to clean up after my ducklings every hour 😂

My ducklings will be born tomorrow so I'll have to tolerate that soon, haha. I will scoop from the bottom. My gosling also decided to be cute and stand on my foot and then promptly pooped on it.

Thank you for the humor and advice. Will spend more time with the babies.
