Do my hens think I am a rooster?

That's true. Of course if I went to the trouble of having one I'd want to see the hens have babies, and I know my girls would too.

Just because you have hens and roosters doesn't mean any of those hens will go broody and want to become a mama. I have plenty of all, roosters, hens and chicks. Roosters participate in the morning rooster races as they chase their favorite girls, whether or not they catch her is another issue. Then DH collects eggs through out the day. The chicks were hatched from my eggs, it is interesting to see "who's the daddy?" as the chicks feather out. Didn't get any broody hens this spring, and now that it is so hot, I won't let the girls sit, most days are around a 100 and the nest boxes are just too hot for more than a brief visit. Maybe if I get a silkie cross hen I might have a broody next spring.
