Do not call list.....

A friend called me today telling me that I needed to add my cellphone to the national do not call list because telemarketers can now call them, not sure thats really new.

The house phone has been on it sense it started. Seems to me that we get more calls now than we did before, 3+ a day. But now is ether people claiming to be nonprofit or people claiming that I have done business with them before.

At this point I just don't answer the phone if the number does not start with 423, 706 or 256. Anyone else better leave a message...

So what do you think of the do not call list?

Same here. I'm getting alot of political "vote for me", blah, blah calls or non-profit.

I don't think there is a cell phone no call list, is there?

You can list your cell phone on the Do Not Call list, too.

Unfortunately, the Do Not Call list does not apply to political parties, PACs or other charity/non-partisan organizations. Neither does requesting that the groups take your name off mailing or call lists - pretty much once they've gotten hold of you address and phone number, they hang on to it in perpetuity.

here in Canada... the CRTC announces the do not call list... within the first few days the system was so overwhelmed that the system crashed.... they got it back up and running and then 6 months later it was hacked and all the numbers cell and home were sold...
