Do older roosters teach cockerels manners?

I think my older rooster is teaching my cockerel manners and the hens run to rooster for protection if cockerel is chasing them.
I was going to take out my old rooster and leave cockerel on the job but now thinking should I leave rooster to continue teaching cockerel more manners? Lead by example how to treat the hens (Rooster dances before mating and only mates if hen squats)
Also, rooster seems to not fertilise anymore so cockerel is taking over that job already with the pullets but hens do not submit as yet.
So do I leave rooster or take him out?

How old is the cockerel, in weeks or months?
Not sure the older male is teaching manners 'by example' as much as asserting his dominance.
How the younger might behave if you remove the older now, or later, only time will tell.
Is the older not mounting the girls anymore?
Does he allow the younger to mate?

Cockerel is 6 months, 3weeks old.
His 3 sisters are same age and just started laying (it's now Winter here in Aust) He mates them without too much of an issue from rooster but often when out foraging when rooster is not around anyway. But if cockerel attempts to mate the hens and rooster hears or sees the hen he will run and intercept the act.
Rooster hasn't attempted to mate the pullets, but does peck them to move away from treats so the hens can have it so it's like he has allowed cockerel to have the pullets.
Rooster dances for the hens and if they squat he half gets on, grabs head/neck and half mounts or often does not mount at all. Proven not to fertilise the last 6 months (my 6 months cock/pullets are his last offspring and many broodies later no fertile eggs)
I had posted about my rooster problems before, he gets stuck on his back while dust bathing and also does trip over occasionally off balance it seems. But still maintains top position. -- although last night he slept on the coop floor!!! 😬☹️

As long as the hens aren't bald and abused I would leave him to teach some manners
Hens not overmated /bald or abused. Rooster has always been gentle and does not mate if hen doesn't squat, and even fine to be with a single hen, which does happen if multiple broodies are on the go!

Just for reference.. and coz I love pics of my beautiful boys!... Pic of rooster IMG_20210512_115244.jpg

...and I do have another rooster (1 year, 3months old) .. seperated due to overmating particular hens as a cockerel so he is in a coop with 2 hens doing fine. Coops/yard is seperated by fence so they have always seen each other as I was hoping to integrate all together again.
