Do Peafowl decimate a garden?

I might be getting peacocks from a farm nearby, but only if they won't destroy my garden. The chickens and ducks do enough damage already, and I love having beautiful plants and gardens.
Obviously in a pen they won't do such a thing, but I'd like free range peafowl.

I dont know about the peafowl but my chickens daym sure destroy my lettuce, spinach, and collards...don't even save me a scrap

Peafowl are 10x more destructive than chickens especially when it comes to greens such as spinach, lettuce, collards, cabbage etc. Tomatoes and any berries will also be gobbled down quickly.

We built a pen and called it the garden. We couldn't have a garden unless we penned the birds out.
