Do people like to buy roosters?

"Always ask what they will be for" and always be prepared to be lied to, as someone who will use them as sparing partners for cockfight training will have no problem lying to your face. It saddens me to type this, but it's the truth. IMHO it is better for the cockerel to feed a needy family than to be used to fight when it has not been trained to fight and has no chance of having a respectful death.
Luckily, non-game bred roosters are usually not used in cockfighting, as they don’t have the drive or the “skill” for it. I don’t think someone would pit a silkie against a gamefowl rooster.

@RoostersAreAwesome Please reread my post, I think you missed the whole point, as I said, All types of cocks are use in sparring, especially ones who will not hurt the bird you are training. Again please reread, as I stated cock fighting is NOT a respectful death.
Please read people's posts carefully before becoming so defensive. Thank you

Ah, my apologies. I didn’t mean to sound defensive. I’ll edit my post.

Give them away.

Understand that they might be eaten....which is the hard part. Silkie meat is a delicacy in Asia.

Don’t worry about cockfighters. Cockfighters don’t want Silkies or Brahmas or Easter Eggers or domestic type chickens.

It is more likely that someone might want to eat them....
