OK- this is my first time hatching quail. I have some button & cortunix in the incubator with some Orp & cochin eggs. I have a really sensitive nose- cillantro & lavendar make me gag. There is a strange smell coming from the bator- but not rotten egg smell. It's skunky- dare I say it- it smells like refer. Is this a quail thing?
I have had the infamous exploding egg- from under a broody- and it's definately different. I just started lockdown yesterday and have one cortunix hatched. I don't want to open it up and go through all the eggs- it's been really dry and I'll lose humidity quickly.
