Do Racoons come during the day? PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

This will deter predators??? I thought it was just to keep the chickens inside...(sorry, not much of an expert).

Hmmm I'm thinking after reading your Halloween story chiknhurder that had me in hysterics, I could.connect one to the chicken pen at night once the chickens have gone to sleep and disconnect it before they get up... What if the wire is attached to wood on the fence though?

Hey D'Angelo.... the guy who did it, Cleo, was ornery. He was my parents age but loved to mess with all the boys in the neighborhood. I went to school with one of his nephews, who was one of my best friends, and Cleo would take a bunch of us down to his farm. He'd do things like shoot M-80's (a 1/8th stick of dynamite) into the ponds from out of site with a sling shot where we would be fishing to scare us. He also had a lift on his tractor and us boys would hang on to it and he would drag us around the pasture but he would try to hit every cow pile he could find. Another time, he had an old wash tub and told one of us to sit on it after he through an M-80 under it. He said it would lift my buddy off the ground. What it did was the equivalent of a giant swat with a huge paddle. My buddy jumped off of it in much pain, running around holding his butt like he'd just been spanked. Cleo was a little bit crazy but we all loved him.

Attaching the wire directly to a wooden post would more than likely ground out the fence. You're best bet would be to use insulators on your posts.
