Do roosters ever chill out? Did I do something to prompt the attack?

We have an Old English Bantam....Rudy....He's so crazy. We ended up with him because he kept chasing and flogging his previous owner's wife. He loves to fight and he acts so sneaky. I'll be walking down the driveway and I'll hear his feet scurrying behind me, and when I turn around he'll be pecking the ground :cool:acting like he's not doing anything but with his wings down. You can take a few more steps turn around and he'll be closer...pecking the ground again. If he can get away with it he'll actually come after you. It doesn't hurt, he's knocked both his spurs off (fighting trees or something I guess, he is a bantam;)) it's just annoying. I usually just get out of the way cause charging him just makes him come after you more. He's friendly other times and you can hold him and pet him. It's just a weird game he plays. It's funny really, but I would hate for a full sized chicken with spurs to act that way. I'd probably just eat him.
