I wouldn't have thought so, but I have eleven hens, who have been averaging 5 - 7 eggs/day through these winter months. We just acquired two roosters two days ago, and today--THIRTEEN eggs! (And no, I did not miss any the previous day--they're all laid in the two nesting boxes.). Could this be from the presence of the roosters, or what???

Its not as common but I have one right now that spring-fall she lays 2 eggs a day almost every day! So its possible. Right now she's only laying one a day but its one almost every single day through the deep of the winter which is great
