I wouldn't have thought so, but I have eleven hens, who have been averaging 5 - 7 eggs/day through these winter months. We just acquired two roosters two days ago, and today--THIRTEEN eggs! (And no, I did not miss any the previous day--they're all laid in the two nesting boxes.). Could this be from the presence of the roosters, or what???

No, roosters don't influence better egg Production.

My ladies before we knocked the flock down, were averaging about 19 - 20 - 21 eggs a day. Occasionally 16 - 17.

This was during the shorter days of winter just to be more clear.

But I never heard of chickens laying more than one egg/day, and at least two of them did today.....

I have had multiple chickens over the years that would lay multiple eggs a day :) Its not as common but I have one right now that spring-fall she lays 2 eggs a day almost every day! So its possible. Right now she's only laying one a day but its one almost every single day through the deep of the winter which is great
