I have never shown chickens before and I wanted to know if l needed leg bands. I want to get them anyway because I plan on breeding and want to tell them apart, but for show chickens are they needed at all? Also, what type am I allowed to use? Do they require certain information on the bands? What leg would they go on? Sorry for so many questions.
Thanks for reading!

Some shows do require legbands, and other don't. But, it is still a good idea to have legbands on your birds, in case there is a mix-up of birds at a show or some other place. The only information you need to have on legbands are the bird's number, which you can choose. They are not like pigeons, which require all sorts of information.

I show Bantam White Wyandottes and Dutch Bantams, and all of my birds have legbands on all the time. I put the legbands on the right leg, but it doesn't really matter.
