I know chickens dont need a male for eggs, but would a silkie still lay even though there is no male? If so, how many eggs do they lay a week usually? I know they arent layer breeds but I got one today and am just curious if I will get some mini bantam eggs every once and a while :)
Thanks !

Yes, silkies are chickens, and no they do not need a rooster to lay eggs. Frequency of laying will depend upon the strain, age and health of your silky. Frequently they will lay a clutch and then go broody.
