Do Silkies Come in full size?

I don't think they are supposed to, but I saw a huge one at the fair. I think it was actually a cross breed because it had just as many regular fearhers as it did "silkie" ones.

I asked the same question a few months ago. In the U.S., I am told all Silkies are supposed to be bantams. Of course, there are going to be some that are larger than others. I have some that are true bantam size and a couple that are almost the size of standard chickens. I am going to try to breed for the smaller ones personally because they are so cute!

Pretty sure that I read a post, that only Bantams are in the US, however, there are standard size in other Countries.

I'll have to see if I can find that post.

My blues are huge compared to the other colors. they all hatched at the same time.

I asked the same question last week. A local 4-H leader ordered my chicks for me. I have 6 pullets, 2 silkies, 2 cochins and 2 buff rocks. They are now 16 weeks old. She was at my house last week and told me that I have all standard chickens, not bantams. She also told me that if I thought my silkies were small I should see bantam silkies....hope this helps.
