Do Silkies lay year long?

We're in Northern California and the weather is now is in the 30's and 40's at night. There is only about 10 hours of daylight now and the 2 black silkies that we adopted in the summer have kept right on laying about every other day. There have been lots of black feathers from their molting at the same time, too.

My silkie and half silkies lay all winter-except when broody!Even when they molt they keep on laying! Everyone else stops cold as soon as they drop a feather from molting. Love those silkies!
