Do Silkies scratch the mulch off flower beds?

Hi, We recently brought 3 silkie bantam hens. I have kept standard sized chickens before but I am new to silkies so I have a couple of questions.
I used to keep the other hens in their own run because if I let them into the rest of the garden they would scratch all the mulch off the flower beds and pull out any smaller plants. Do Silkies do this too?
They seem very passive so far .... mostly staying close together and not exploring much is this their usually behavior or are they just settling in (we have had them 3 days now)?
Is there anything else I should know about keeping silkies?
Thank you.

Silkies are pretty mellow, but they are chickens and like to scratch and search for bugs and bits of vegetation.

Wecome to BYC Emma! I've raised a lot of silkies and can tell you this--they have a lot of personality and they are in fact, chickens. The cool part is that Silkies can't fly out of 3ft tall pen. I think that silkies might move the mulch like any other normal chicken, but maybe you can provide a distraction like a dustbathe in the corner of your garden for them. Best wishes!
