Do snail pellets harm chickens?

I'm not sure whether to use them or now. Darned snails are eating my chilli plants! I'm wondering if I could use snail pellets around the area. The chickens hardly ever venture there and I chase them away from the area but just in case it happens I'm wondering if the toxin they use in them is also lethal to chickens?

Thanks

I wouldn't put pellets out. I know for my other pets, I'd use the powder but with chickens, I don't think either is a good idea. Now that I have the chickens ranging, I never see snails anymore, not after a rain or after the lawn gets watered at night. You should let them range there. Maybe if you want to protect the pepper plants, you could protect them with some wire mesh? Otherwise, I'd only put it where chickens can't get to.
