Do the usual methods apply when adding new, same age pullets to my flock?

Hi all,
I've got 10 pullets that are 18 weeks old and just aquired 10 more that are the same age. Since they're all the same age and not fully mature, do I need to adhere to the usual methods of adding young girls in with older ladies? Or can I put them in to roost with the existing flock tonight? I've done some reading and can't find anything specifically addressing the same age, not fully mature aspect of our situation.

TIA for your help!

Same guidance, pretty much. I assume you've read about the pecking order issues, how outsiders are seen as intruders, and all the other things. I does help having them approximately the same size and age. That makes the fight fairer. Chicken politics can sometimes be brutal. Here's to hoping it goes well for you.

Yup, I have read up on those issues. I definitely want to make the transition as smooth as possible!

One of the new BRs escaped when we were giving them water & food. Luckily, we have 2 other BRs, so I think she sort of blended right in with the other girls (who were free-ranging at the time). Doesn't stand out like some of the other newbies will. The existing girls didn't react or respond in any noticeable way, but I won't take that for granted with the rest of the girls.

The "double agent" BR went back in with her sisters today. We have the new girls in the run while the existing girls free range. So glad we're keeping them separated - the existing leghorn and the new BA tried to get up close and personal today!
