I cracked open some of my silkie eggs and am in need of opinions on wether anyone thinks they are fertile? The 4 silkies and 2 frizzles have been in their own pen with my silkie rooster for aprox. 2 weeks. These eggs are were collected yesterday. If they look fertile then I'm gonna add todays collection to the incubator with the eggs I received from MissP.

2nd photo, top right - yes. The other 2 no.

The top left - double blastodyst - not seen too very often but not rare.

Where do you see 3? There is no bullseye on 2 of them. The dot doesn't mean fertile. The dot is on every egg laid.

Sooo....today I will gather from my silkies and stick in the bator with MissP's eggs and candle about day 10 and see what I have.

That's what I thought to MissP

I totally agree with MissPrissy. Just the one looks fertile.

More time together may help, or try trimming the vent feathers on both the rooster and the hens may increase the fertility. Sometimes all the fluffy feathers on frizzles and silkies get in the way.

Go on, throw some in the incubator anyway.
