Do these look like males?

Hello everyone,
I’ve got two Welsummers week old chicks I am suspicious of being males based on their coloring? Can anyone familiar with this breed chime in? Thanks!

Yep males, females are darker in color, & have clearer/darker eyeliner, & eye stripe.

My welsummer was a cockerel, even though I ordered a pullet.

Perhaps I’m wrong (and I hope so!) but I read online that Welsummers can be sexed as new hatches based on color. I’m new to this breed I was sent a ton more than I ordered so trying to figure out if any are males.

Anyway I read males are more ginger colored, break in the stripe from the head to the back, fuzzier eye liner, and less defined triangle on the forehead. These two look a bit different than the others!

You're welcome. Update us in 4 weeks, breast feathers will be coming in by then. Males will have black, or black red mix, female's have salmon breasts.

I've only raised the one Welly but mine looked like that and grew into a giant hen, I haven't heard of them being autosexing, weird : 0

Found this on line. I imagine with hatchery quality this difference will be less evident.

"Welsummers are not sex-linked or auto-sexing but they can be sexed at day old. Males have a stripe across the eyes but it is less well defined than the females. Also, the tops of their heads are more reddish-brown. Females have a darker, more pronounced stripe across their eyes."

these are not hatchery quality so I’m hopeful I have at least a few females based on this
Here is an example of one I think is female it is much darker, less red, have thicker eye liner and dark V on head than the two little ones in the photo!
