Do they just need to get used to it?

I got my two hens on saturday and they haven't come out of the coop yet, unless they did and i didn't see them. Everytime i come up to the coop they go to the far corner

I gave them some bread and then they cam closer to me,lol. Im sooo glad i got two because my husband took one out of the coop and put it in the run while leaving the other in the coop. They started clucking and looking around like "Hey, where's my friend!?!?!?" LOL.

Just talk softly and offer treats. It won't be long and you won't be able to knock them off of you. I have had new birds that took a few days to get use to there new place. Just give it time.

Just give them a little time. Be friendly and make sure you introduce yourself as 'keeper of the yummy things', and you won't be able to keep them in the coop!

I'll sometimes sit out in the run with the hens. That seems to have helped a lot; they've become quite tame, treats or not.
