i have a ? id like to get 4 or 5 bantom hens i seen at tractor supply they have a chicken hutch on sale for $100 witch isnt too bad of a deal i 4get wat the messurement sizes are i dnt maybe someone else on here has seen the same hutch that i saw and knows the hight and width but if anybody does know about the hutch im talking about would it be suitable for 4 or 5 bantoms there really small chickens so i wouldnt think that they would need a big coop plus are battom hens good when it comes to egg production? plus are they good eggs to eat

Bantams need a minimum of 2 square feet inside the house and 4 outside - this is a minimum for a run. A bigger run can be better, not so a house. They needs smaller quarters to cuddle up and stay warm in PA winters.

Bantam eggs are small and the amount you get will depend upon the breed. If you're looking for breakfast every day, four or five bantams might not supply you with what you want.

Good luck,
Mary

i found the size of the coop its 42.5in w x28.25in thats wat the newspaper ad sayd for the measurments would this be enoughf space for 4 or 5 bantom hens

You should check your local craigslist for free stuff, just saw a free shed around Pittsburgh the other day.
I'm sure it's gone by now.

Not sure about the chicken hutch, you sure it wasn't a rabbit hutch.
Build a coop, It;s so fun and addicting.

i probly could but i dnt think i have enoughf lumber laying around thats why i figurd id buy the 1 thats on sale at tractor supply if its big enoughf all i wanna get is 4 or 5 bantoms i wouldnt think id need a big coop for little chickens if i get bantoms how far away do i keep there coop away from my big chicken coop are chicken deases airborne how far should coops be apart

Beware, all the coops I've seen for sale in feed stores have been so flimsy they either won't last long or are just feedign stations for predators.

oh ok thanks for warning me from looking at it close up it looked nice kinda solid lookind idk much about coop construction specifecations so ur probly rite itll probly be junky and not last long

I believe I have the coop you are talking about. No, it would not be big enough, you'll need a run addition added to it for 4 chickens. Might as well spend $300 on a nice shed.
