My ducklings lay down and eat out of the feeder. Is this normal? I would've thought they would move around more than they do but they are only about 2 weeks old.

Oh I agree at 2 weeks they should be all over the place. Have they always been inactive or is this something new?

I have only had them for a little while but they've always been kind of laid back. Maybe they're cold. I'll try warming them up. They always have fresh water and plenty of good.

Ok so the "lounging" while eating is normal. I was thinking you little piglets cant even stand to eat!

My Mallards are just over a week old, and they lay down to eat...mine are pretty lazy little girls, until it comes to the water. then they chase each other around it!

^^ ditto. Mine are lazy too. But get a bowl of water involved and ALLLL that energy is released and they are faster then superman.

My runner duckling lays down to eat too. Just relaxing and having a good little dinner. Then he gets up and runs around. I Think it is normal.

Thank you all! I was a little worried since I have always heard ducklings are crazy little buggers. Mine are pretty laid back but they are hanging out with their "AUnt" who is about 4 weeks older. She loves them, its super cute.
