Do u treat 4 worms when they get worms or reguardless?

I have 5 25 week old pullets...I never had chickens b4..I never had any issues like the ones I see on here..but am i supposed to deworm reguardless if they have worms as a preventive measure or nothing unless they get worms..And what is the deal with mites?

Yes - they need to be wormed regularly regardless.

I've read a lot of debate on BYC about whether or not to worm. I'm also new to chickens so I'm not sure, but I'm going to go ahead and do it. I figure it can't hurt. I use DE in my coop and it really helps prevent lice.
