Do we have a EE Pullet or a Roo?

Thank you M! They really are nice looking birds. Hate to lose such a colorful bird in Patrick, but better to lose the one and still be able to keep 4 or 5 hens.

Well if you're in the mind for a road trip or if you just so happen to find yourself down Atlanta way for the 4th of July holiday you'd be more than welcome to take home this handsome, young, bearded fellow.

No way is that a hen - the colours are a dead giveaway!

Red on the shoulders like that is always a roo for future reference.

He is definitely a pretty boy though! I just love EEs!

If I didn't live in Indiana he'd already be in my coop ;-) Is he a certain type of EE or was it just luck (or bad luck depending on how you look at it) that you got him?

Hmmm, I wonder how much shipping a bird across the states would cost?!?!?! lol

Many EE's have crazy awesome colours.

Here is my boy - he is not quite as patterned as the roo above, but he's still relatively young.

Just luck of the draw. Got him from a guy that runs his own little hatchery out of his backyard. He posts on craigslist fairly regularly so I'm hoping to pick a couple more chicks from the same family. They would deffinately be the most colorful in our flock. This started as a small backyard project and I am quickly finding I would love to keep more than just 4 or 5 birds at a time now.
