Do white layers have the same personality as pekins?

Now i am in love with pekins but i know they are pretty big and i read that white layers are only 4-5 lb or something like that so i was wondering if they were better for me. Do they have the same personality though? Or are they a COMPLETELY different breed?

No clue on personality but yes they are a complete different "Breed". I'm not sure what's in the mix but pretty sure it's at least 3 different breeds.

You can get strains of Pekin that have been developed for good egg laying, but they are great big ducks.

White color does not turn a bird into a Pekin. There are lots if white ducks who have no Pekin blood in them at all.

Different breeds tend to have slightly different personalities. Where you get the ducks seems to have more effect on temperament than the breed does.

Rule of thumb: All the breeds that are calm natured are the large breeds. The smaller they are, the faster their little motor races.
