Do you always have grit available for your flock or measure it?

I'm not sure how much grit to put out for the girls...I worry thay may consume too much, is that possible? (They gobble it right down when I broadcast it in their run).

Also; same question on the oyster shells. (5 RIR flock)

If your chickens are like mine with a dirt floor they won't need grit and oyster shells when laying..I got mine ready when the girls start laying next month hopefully..
