I'm Krugerrand and I approve this idea that nut hatched.I think something might be able to sneak through by bending down the wire from the top. If you can get your fist through, a coon can get in. You might be able to screw eye hooks into the framing and tightening a cable through the wire.
I think it would work fine too, I'm just erring on the side of caution, like my dad says: "It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it."I don't think many predators would be able to get to that spot. "I" would call it secure. However, I agree with nuthatched, eye screws and wire would be a cheap and easy extra layer.

Hmmmmm.....first thought was, I don't like it....but the screws, on the sides near the roof, should keep it in place against most predators.I installed hardware cloth this way under the roof. Do you think it is good enough?
