Do you count clear eggs into percentage?

Just what the title says, when figuring out percentages, do you count clear eggs into your percentage or not. For hatch rate do you only figure that hatch rate on what makes it to lockdown, or from day 1? I set 27 eggs originally, I tossed 4 that were completely clear, 1 had a blood ring, one was a day 3 or 4 quitter, and the other had just a small blood dot, but nothing major. Overall, I'm very happy so far considering these are all shipped eggs, just trying to figure out how you all do your percentages.

Yes, all eggs are counted to get a true percentage. Shipped eggs average 50%. So, if you start with 24, pull 7 along the way due to clears & bloodrings, go into lockdown with 17 and hatch 12, you are 50%.

I would not count the infertile eggs as they could not have hatched in the first place. Only count the ones that could have hatched.

I do not count the clears. just any that started to form.

I count the clear eggs against my fertility percentage, and had been counting them against my hatch rate, but then I realized that makes no sense. Why count them as didn't hatch when the potential was never there? That's a fertility issue, not a hatch rate issue. Just my 2 cents

I only count viable eggs (eggs that began to develop) into my hatch rate.

So, I don't count clears, but blood rings and quitters count because they began to develop.

Thanks for the replies everyone. That's what I thought, the totally clears I won't count. Which leaves me with a percentage of about 87% developing so far. Not bad for shipped eggs i don't think. One week to go until hatch day. Woohoo!

Its a matter of what you want to know? I use my on eggs an I am responsible for them all threw the prosses. So I count everything.

Remember clears don't just mean infretal, some have been damaged before being set. If you are just trying to keep up with your incubation skills with shipped eggs you can leave out the clears but I still dont.
