To start, we have had chickens for 2 years now. The oldest birds we got as chicks so now are beginning to slow down laying. Out of the 30 birds we have:
4 Roo's (2 Silkie, 1 Silver Pencilled Hamb, 1 Red Cap)
26 Misc Hens.
The problem is
1. We have 2 hens that have "bad" legs - they hurt them as chicks and now hop around on the 1 good leg. They eat, sleep with the others and have no other issues.
2. 2 Silkie Roo's with 3 Silkie hens that NEVER lay an egg!
3. 1 Silver Pencilled Hamb Roo that has no Hamburg hens in the flock but it sweet as can be and loves to be held
So, we don't have many birds but what do others do in situations like these?
