We were told by a guy at Benton Shooter Supply that some(insert bad word here) Wildlife Management employees could ticket you for "baiting" deer. By baiting he meant feeding "deer corn" in a feeder. HOWEVER, he said as long as you don't buy "deer corn" and buy sweet feed, oats, cracked corn or even just a salt/mineral lick its not "baiting" them. Something about the "deer corn" is baiting and not feeding. We don't feed them on purpose*whistles and looks away* but if they happen to stumble upon our squirrel feeder in the woods then I don't see why they couldn't enjoy a bite or 12. We feed the wild bird, squirrels, rabbits and other critters through the winter here. We have seen in the recent months TURKEYS and deer more frequently than before.
Question: Why do they sell deer feeders and deer corn if your not supposed to use it?
