Do you feed your chickens breakfast and dinner

Is it wrong to feed your chickens breakfast and dinner. I include my layer feed in it.

What are you feeding? I keep the ration out always, and spread out some scratch 2x a day.

I have their layer feeder for therm all the time. I let them roam around the yard. I give them fruit inn the morning and veggies for dinner. Twice a week I give them some yogurt Just 2 Tbs.

My birds are fed free choice base ration wth treats given occasionally but not at any set time of day or every day

Mine have feed & water all daylight hours. Treats when I and they get bored.

I think you should feed them all day or at least that's what goes on here. Bowl is always full and they get a random surprise couple hours before roosting might be anything fruit, scratch, oatmeal.

A lot depends on your feed choice(ie fermented vs regular dry ration vs wetted mash), management (confined 24/7 vs out ranging most/all day) specific issues such as daytime pests raiding feed, etc.

Deep litter bedding, a good balanced ration, a safe coop and run, and things are as effortless as possible. Mary
