Hello fellow chicken fans, I found this whole-grain feed recipe https://www.gardenbetty.com/garden-bettys-homemade-whole-grain-chicken-feed/
I wanted to try and it includes brewer's yeast. Wondering if anyone uses brewer's yeast in their feed? I still feed my chickens Scratch and Peck organic layer feed in a separate feeder. I just love the idea of adding a colorful whole-grain option! Thanks for your feedback.

I've used it mostly for turkeys and water fowl to up the vitamin levels. Since you're contemplating this I would also suggest you visit the Fertrell site and look at some of their recipes.

I mix almost all my poultry feeds from locally sourced grains. I mix the grain and then ferment with brewers yeast. I brew as well, so I always have a yeast cake that I would otherwise dump down the drain. They love the fermented feed and are very healthy.

I have been feeding brewers yeast (Leiber 100%) for decades with good results. But it should never be more than 5% .
