Each year when I have chicks I pick one to keep as a favorite. Pictured here is a 6 week old bantam barred cochin pullet I call "Polly". She's hanging out with her standards size best friend of the same age, Easter Egger "Emma". Every other day or so I bring Polly in with me to watch TV and hang out. I do this with each chick each year and they end up being the sweetest chicks that can be brought to nursing homes, fairs and the like and they just take it in stride.
Do you have a favorite chicken?

Oh yes! This is my fave chicken. Her name is Gracie and is sweeter than honey! I love her! But, of course, I love all my chickens and wouldn't trade them for the world!

Ahh. I had a Gracie once. She was a silver grey Dorking. She was definitely a favourite. But she's passed and I don't have a good picture. I'll take a photo of my SECOND favourite when the sun is shining and get back to you ok?

Yes my very broody BO

Ottoline, not sure what her breed is, but she's about nine years old I think? I remember her when she was a crazy little girl hen, skipping to the compost ahead of everyone else, but I'm just as fond of her now in her grumpy old lady stage. She's giving me the stink eye here because I have a camera in my hand instead of grapes.

Cute! She looks like an Australorp.
